Foreign observers might be surprised at the opportunities available for the visually-impaired individuals in India. Well-trained graduates have good prospects of finding a well-paying job that can support themselves and a family in both the public and private sector.
The Disability Act of 1995 reserves 1% of all entry-level of government positions for individuals with a visual impairment, whilst many large private companies in the BPO and call center industries also provide employment opportunities.
